A look at our team...

Amanda Dame, D.V.M. (Owner/Small Animal Veterinarian)

Amanda Dame graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph in 1996. Since then, she has worked in Vermont and Kingston before settling in Peterborough. Amanda joined the Peterborough Veterinary Services team as a small animal veterinarian in 2003 and took over the practice in 2016 with her colleague Greg Aitken. When she is not helping pets, Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, dog and two cats. She loves all things active and outdoors, especially running, cycling, canoeing and skiing.

Greg Aitken D.V.M. (Owner/Large Animal Veterinarian)

Greg Aitken graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph in 2012. Greg grew up on a beef farm in Wellington County, where as much of his free time as possible was spent with the farm's cows, sheep, horses, dogs and cats. Jobs at neighbouring farms, involvement in 4-H, and working at the local vet clinic all helped shape him for his future career. There was a two year intermission spent studying history, philosophy, and literature in beautiful Northern Ontario, but the desire to spend a life working with animals and agriculture soon won out. He returned to study animal biology at the University of Guelph in 2008, graduating 4 years later. In 2012, Greg made the move with his wife and three children to Peterborough, where he joined the team at Peterborough Veterinary Services as a large and small animal veternarian. Greg is now working as a large animal veterinarian and took over the practice in 2016, with his colleague Amanda Dame. In his spare time, he can be found on his small patch of land in Dummer Township, trying to keep an old farmhouse from tumbling down, and happily raising vegetables, chickens, and a growing family.
